If you can join one or more of these surveys, please let me know by phone or email.
Arrangements are as follows:
-
We'll first go over plans, etc. and try to get on the water 1/2 hour after the start time listed.
-
You will be provided with an identification sheet and a scope, if one is needed. Hopefully, the early hour will make for flat water, so observation can be done without scopes.
-
Plan to provide your own life jacket (PFD) and kayak. Except Jackie Tanner has 4 extra single person kayaks that can be used on Wednesday. If you are a trained IPPer and would like to participate but don't have a kayak or someone to paddle you, please phone me so I can try to coordinate what you need. If you have a 2 person kayak and a willing friend, bring her/him along.
-
If you have a plant id book, bring it.
-
Same goes for small rake or butterfly net.
-
We will provide some floats, but if you took some noodle pieces, please make a few floats for your own or others' use.
-
Water bottle, sunscreen, etc. is good to have
If it's raining hard, we won't go. If the weather if iffy, and you have not called or written me to say you will be taking part in a survey on a particular day, you won't get the No Go signal from me!
Mike Bernstein is going to do his area (#1) on his own schedule. We haven't, yet, decided on a day for the Snug Harbor area. We could do it Sunday if we could rally enough people. Segment # 5 is HUGE.
Thanks,
Maggie
